3-day PACKRAFTING course

This 3-day course is designed for beginners who want to discover the adventure of packrafting, as well as more experienced packrafters who want to develop their paddling and rescue skills (knowledge of the environment, whitewater safety techniques).
In partnership with our partner R3-France, which specialises in whitewater rescue training (R3-France is Rescue3 Europe provider), this 3-day course aims to make you more confident and safer during your packrafting adventures and expeditions.

The first day of the course is dedicated to developing your knowledge of whitewater rescuetechniques (at the end of the course, you will leave with Rescue3 WRT-F certificate). Acquiring basic whitewater rescue knowledge and techniques is an essential step on the path to autonomy: we will cover hydrology and the specific dangers of rivers, paddling gear, whitewater swimming and managing your equipment in the event of capsizing, the use of throw bags, etc.
The following two days will be dedicated to navigation itself: individual paddling techniques (stops, re-entering the current, ferrying, etc.), but also different paddling strategies on the river (read-and-run, scouting, etc.) and group management during your river trips (how to organise a trip, managing collective safety on the river, decision-making tools, etc.).

Our PACKRAFT Navigation and Safety courses run from March to October and, depending on the period, take place either in the Tarentaise Valley in Savoie or in the Annecy area in Haute-Savoie.

Equipment is not provided during these courses; however, it is possible to hire all or part of the equipment. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the equipment.

To practise packrafting, you must be able to swim.
